iOS 6.0.1 and Traveler - Calendar Stuff Plays Nice Again

Apple released an update to iOS 6 today (6.0.1), with a number of maintenance things and bug fixes. Of particular note is a fix to Exchange meetings; it's an issue that surfaced with the update to Traveler that corresponded with the release of iOS 6.

Andy Donaldson was the first to report this to IBM, with meetings not appearing properly in the iPad and iPhone (more iPad though). Turns out it was not a Traveler issue, but rather an Apple issue.

To refresh your memory, or if you are unaware of the problem, visit this link on Andy' blog, as it's pretty clearly demonstrated there.

I applied the 6.0.1 update, and re-tested the functionality - iOS update fixes the problem. I contacted Andy, he re-tested as well, also with success.

The fix will address all entries going forward; to fix existing entries that are not appearing properly, try this (because it worked for me):
  • Open the entry in the Notes Client
  • Save it (with no changes, don't want a bunch of updates/invites flying around) - I just used a CTRL-S.
  • The update will trigger a push to the device, which will then correct the calendar display.

Andy's follow-up post, bringing some closure to the effort, can be found here. Thanks, Andy, for keeping this updated.

Short version, if your users have updated to iOS 6, the 6.0.1 update would be a good idea to apply.
